The Design Process

Whether for day, evening, special occasion or bridal, when you buy a Primeau you purchase a personal fashion experience.  Clients will enjoy working with designer Richard Beckel in his salon and workroom.  There are several design options: 

• Couture: A French term for fashion designed and made-to-order just for you.   Couture fashion features fine fabrics and uses hand-executed techniques rather than mass production. The process is amazing - from the initial fashion concept sketch, to being fitted in a muslin of the design, to the crafting and fitting of the final garment.  
• Demi-couture:  Semi-custom fashion in which an existing Primeau design is made and custom-fit for just you, using a fabulous fabric the designer has selected to match your style and fashion personality.   
• Prêt-a-porter de Luxe:  Prêt-a-porter de luxe refers to high-end designer garments that are ready-to-purchase, however the garment is still be hand-finished and custom-fitted. 

Price will vary based on whether it is a custom or semi-custom design, the fabrics, and design features like hand-applied finishes.  After your initial consultation, if you decide you can't live without a Primeau (and we know you won't be able to resist) a design fee will be charged and the designer will commence with creating a concept and fabric selection for you.  After you confirm the design and fabric, the final cost is determined.  Semi-custom design varies primarily on fabric selection.  This personal design experience is part of the joy of owning a beautiful Primeau. You can be sure the artful style and timeless elegance of a Primeau will make it a fashion treasure you'll wear for many seasons.
